Woking again dominated the third with stifling defense and physical play. The pace of the game once again fell to a stutter as play struggled through fouls. Woking still managed to own the third with an 18-11 point spread placing the Blackhawks comfortably in front 53-39.  

 

In the fourth foul trouble finally took its toll with two Blackhawks fouling out of the game. Several members of the starting lineup gave the floor to the second unit as Woking held on for the win 68-58. 

 

 For the Blackhawks Henry Winton lead the way with 24 points, shooting 59% from the floor, taking down 7 boards and coming up with 3 steals. Noah added 20 points, 8 assists, 5 boards and 4 steals. Max Gough dropped 12 points shooting a perfect 5-5 from the floor and 2-2 from the line. Liam Marsh hit 50% of his shots for 4 points, Kiran Coomasaru and Denver Matthew added 3 each and Gabriel put up 2. 

 

For the Bucks Hornets Martire Charlett scored 16 points and was very effective getting to and cashing in at the line making 8 of 10 free throws. Charles added 12 points shooting 50% at the line and draining a three point shot. Pearson was also effective including 11 points while Barber and Stojkovic each had 5 and Andrew added 1. 

 

The next NL match is this Saturday afternoon at 16:30, October 13th, away at Guildford against the Surrey Rams. 

 

 

30 September 18: Woking BlackhawksU14 NL take another victory from Kingston WSOB

 
Woking - The Blackhawk U14 National League squad started their 2018/2019 campaign with another hard fought win at home against Kingston’s Wildcats. 

Woking took an early lead and held it throughout 4 quarters as they prevailed in this matchup 57-33.  Gabriel, Denver, Henry and Noah were strong on the glass controlling the boards as the Blackhawk D took control in this game. There were several key turnovers in transition and some strong blocks to help seal the victory. 

For the Blackhawks Noah poured in 21 points and was a perfect three for three from the line to lead all scorers. Henry put in 13 points making one of three free throws.  Sean added 5 draining an uncontested 3 late in the third. Denver, Max, and Gabriel each added 4 points. Liam and Joe added 2 each.
